Panoply's SEPTEMBER featured artist: Holly Dennie
Holly Dennie of SCULPT Brow & Body in Saint Paul, Minnesota is our featured artist for September. Hollie's advanced brow artist skills never fail to WOW us! She's a two-time trained Elleebana artist, and we're proud to have her on team Panoply!
Our Panoply Beauty team interviewed Holly about her experience with Elleebana products and education, and the Panoply brand. Here's what she said:
"I've been an Esthetician since 2018, and I've been a solo artist for 1 year this month! I've spent the majority of my life bouncing from job to job, and eventually landed in beauty school to pursue bridal makeup, quickly realized that makeup wasn't going to be my ticket to happiness but loved the atmosphere of the industry, so I kept going. Now, brows are my specialty, but it's fun to switch it up with the occasional lash lift or brazilian on the side!
"I first learned of Elleebana through my previous employer, and when I decided to go solo, I reached out to Kelly at Panoply to stock up on my own product. Since then, I've taken a one-on-one with Kelly for lashes, and a few master classes for brows. It's easy to feel close to the girls at Panoply, I guarantee they gave me a lot of confidence when I was starting out, and I owe a lot of my success with the brand to that.
"Before I decided to get my license, I was actually looking into working in human resource management. I've always hated being the new girl at a job, or having to learn a new service (like threading for example) so when I'm talking to clients or sharing tips and tricks with other artists, it makes me feel like I get to use the skills I would have working in a human resource environment, but in a much more fun and relaxed way. I'm not exactly sure how I landed in this career and had it turn out to be exactly what I should have been doing all these years, but better late than never.
"Within the first year of being independent, the support I've gotten from clients new and old, and the way word of mouth has traveled, it's no secret that Sculpt will be bigger than what I had planned. It's terrifying and exciting at the same time..but if you're not willing to risk, you cant grow.
"The best thing I can try to stress to other artists, or anyone that thinks they're too old or too comfortable to make a change, is to get uncomfortable with that way of thinking. If I hadn't made a change at 30, I would still be serving pints of beer in Iowa! Oh, and the real education starts once you're licensed, take advantage of quality classes!"
